Question: Can anyone tell me what it is like to be in love? I have never been in a relationship so I don't know. What is so special about falling in love?
Ms. Mystery: If you fall in love you will know. You suddenly meet
someone and that is all you can think of all day, every second. You
can't wait to see them or hear their voice. If they email you, you read
the email over and over. It is the most exciting thrill you can have.
You can't help who you fall for or decide when. I doesn't help to look
for it either. If you go about your day doing the things you like to
do... obviously you must be around other people... then you can
suddenly turn a corner, and find yourself staring into someone else's
eyes and
you are in love. It's kinda like temporary insanity, actually. Or you might have a friend who does something special for you and you suddenly realize you're in love. You fall "head over heels." Almost all songs and poems are about love. There's definitely something very special there.
Mr. Know: How old are you? Falling in love is different if you're a
teenager, or in your 20s, 30s or 40s... to a certain extent. There are
different kinds of love. For instance, teenagers engage in what I call
puppy love. Whatever form or method of love you experience, it is a
special physical and emotional feeling.
You might fall in love with a person quickly, but after being around them, find out that they're really not right for you. You may like somebody at first, but then fall deeper in love with them as you get to know them for who they really are as they open up to you. You may experience love at first sight (which I really don't believe in - it's most likely lust). Being in love is a wonderful feeling because it's kinda like walking on air. It's looking forward to doing things with the other person above anything else. It's having two people become one. That's why you have that corny, but great line in Jerry Maguire,"You completely me." Love isn't something you just throw around. I cringe when my friends finish every phone call with "I love you." Instead of me wasting time answering you question, get your butt out there and find the love of your life. Good Luck and Godspeed.
